Un Magnifico Jueves en Espana (a magnificant thursday in spain)

Thursday morning almost all of us slept till about 12:30 because the night before was so long. Berta invited her friends Maria and Sophia to come and swim in the pool. We swam and laid out in the sun for about an hour. Berta and I walked about 5 minutes to Angela's office where I will be helping with some foreign exchange student stuff. It is in a basement because she said the area that she is in is VERY expensive for buying buildings soooo it was way cheaper to buy an office underground with no windows! After we got home, we took showers and prepared for a night out in Seville. Berta, Rocio, y Fernando (daughter, mom, and dad) took the trambilo (train) to the center of Seville in order to see everything as we walked back to their home.

The metro train (above ground) they only have one that's underground.

Fernando told me the history behind every building and how we will tour them soon. The building below contains all the documents and information from the explorers who came to Spain a long time ago.

The building below is a mix of old and new. I believe they did not finish it completely a long time ago so they are restoring some of it. There is a huge bell tower (la giralda), a cathedral, and a Muslim (arab) temple underground

We went on the rooftop of a hotel with a lot of other people so we could get a better picture of the giralda at night. We drank soda while listening to a man play flamenco and sing about Seville with his guitar. (I took a video for you dad(; )

  1. The architecture is wonderful. It's so pretty at night with the lighting. We have such a strong influence here of Greek and Roman architecture. You can really tell the Persian/Arab influence in their buildings. REALLY pretty. Thks for sharing. Hugs, Mom
